Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Boostify, a Discord bot and related services operated by Tiago Santos. By using the service, you agree to these Terms.

Warning

If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the service.

Service overview

Boostify provides a Discord bot available as a hosted (cloud) service and as a self-hosted open-source version.

The hosted service is provided on a best-effort basis and is intended primarily for small and growing communities.

Note

The website is hosted on third-party infrastructure (e.g., Vercel), and we are not affiliated with such providers.

Eligibility

You must comply with Discord's Terms of Service when using Boostify.

Warning

You should be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use the service.

Data collection, authentication & usage

Boostify uses authentication (powered by better-auth) to manage user sessions and provide access to features such as the suggestions platform.

When you log in or interact with our services, we may collect and store limited account-related data such as user identifiers, email (if provided by the authentication provider), session tokens, and basic profile information.

In addition to Discord-related identifiers (such as user IDs and server IDs), we may also store user-generated content including suggestions, bug reports, feedback, and related metadata submitted through our platform.

Note

This data is used strictly to operate, improve, and secure the service, including moderation and feature development.

Tip

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. All data handling follows applicable privacy principles, and you may request deletion of your data through official support channels.

Suggestions platform

Boostify includes a public feedback and suggestions platform where users may submit feature requests, bug reports, and other feedback.

By submitting content, you grant us the right to store, display, and use this information for the purpose of improving the service.

Warning

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you submit does not violate laws, infringe on third-party rights, or contain harmful material.

Note

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any submissions at our discretion. Public submissions may be visible to other users unless explicitly marked as private or removed.

Service enforcement

Updated

Boostify reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate access to the hosted version of the service for any individual, Discord server, organisation, or community that:

  • Violates these Terms of Service.
  • Violates applicable laws or regulations.
  • Attempts to exploit vulnerabilities or abuse the service.
  • Engages in malicious, fraudulent, or harmful behaviour.
  • Interferes with the stability, security, or operation of Boostify.
  • Uses the service in a manner that negatively impacts other users or the platform.

Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion and may occur with or without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users.

Note

A suspension or ban from Boostify's hosted services does not prohibit you from using the self-hosted edition of Boostify, provided you comply with the applicable open-source licence and all relevant laws.

Self-hosted deployments are operated independently and remain entirely under the responsibility of the individual or organisation hosting them. Boostify does not control, manage, or access self-hosted instances unless explicitly authorised by their owner.

Group data, branding & intellectual property

New

When connecting a Discord server, organisation, or community to Boostify, you confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to use any names, logos, trademarks, branding, images, and other intellectual property you provide.

By using the service, you grant Boostify a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, reproduce, display, and process these assets solely for the purpose of:

  • Displaying your branding within the Boostify dashboard and integrations.
  • Operating features requested by your server.
  • Creating documentation and support resources.
  • Publishing changelogs, announcements, showcase material, or promotional content relating to Boostify.
  • Maintaining archived records where reasonably necessary.

Note

You retain ownership of all intellectual property and branding you provide. This licence does not transfer ownership and exists solely to allow Boostify to operate and promote its services.

Warning

You represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to submit any assets you provide.

Intellectual property

Boostify, including its name, logo, branding, website, source code (except where licensed otherwise), documentation, designs, graphics, and other original materials, are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Unless otherwise stated, all rights are reserved. Nothing within these Terms grants you ownership of Boostify's intellectual property or permission to use our branding except where explicitly authorised.

Third-party services

Boostify integrates with third-party platforms and infrastructure providers, including but not limited to Discord, Supabase, GitHub, Vercel, and Better Auth.

Your use of those services remains subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

Boostify is not responsible for:

  • The availability of third-party services.
  • Changes to third-party APIs.
  • Data handling performed independently by third-party providers.
  • Downtime or interruptions caused by third-party infrastructure.

Open source

Where provided, the self-hosted edition of Boostify is distributed under its applicable open-source licence.

Nothing within these Terms limits your rights granted by that licence.

Note

These Terms apply primarily to Boostify's hosted services, website, dashboard, APIs, and any official infrastructure operated by Boostify.

Self-hosted version

The self-hosted version of Boostify is provided as-is via GitHub.

You are fully responsible for hosting, maintaining, and securing your own instance.

Danger

We are not liable for any damages, data loss, or issues arising from self-hosted deployments.

Availability & uptime

The hosted service aims to provide high availability (approximately 99% uptime), but no guarantees are made.

Warning

Downtime, interruptions, or data loss may occur.

Note

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Abusing the bot.
  • Exploiting vulnerabilities.
  • Violating laws.
  • Using the service for harmful or malicious purposes.

Warning

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for users who violate these rules.

Limitation of liability

Boostify is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Danger

We are not responsible for any direct, indirect, or incidental damages resulting from the use of the service. This includes loss of data, service interruptions, or issues caused by third-party platforms such as Discord.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time if you violate these Terms.

You may stop using the service at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Note

Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and Portugal.

Any disputes shall be handled under applicable EU regulations.
